Jeremy Smith and I have had an eventful fourteen days that we want to bring you up to date on. As many of you already know, we had our office flood at The Dakota condominium this past November which resulted in us using temporary space at the Atlanta Intown main office at the 10th Street location. The Dakota space tested positive for mold, which meant that we could not return until after the space had been remediated. It was determined that the source of water was from the ground and multiple attempts to resolve/repair have yet to be successful. The HOA just allocated an additional 250K to make repairs with no definitive time line in place. With a real need for permanent usable space, we moved forward last week with the purchase of an office in the commercial space at Plaza Towers (2575 Peachtree Road Suite #302, Atlanta, GA., 30305) in Buckhead. In addition to space for 4-5 desks, we will have access to the condominiums board room whenever we have a need for conference space. The buildings common areas will be completely renovated over the next year. There is also more than ample for guest parking for our clients to use at anytime. Our renovation of the space is underway and should be completed by the end of next week at which time our new furniture and video display will be delivered.

In addition to moving to a new office, we are also moving to a new brokerage. This past Wednesday I resigned both my position (after 18 years) and my ownership in Atlanta Intown Real Estate Services. Going forward Jeremy and I will be working with Engel and Volkers Atlanta with additional office space in their Brookwood Place office on Peachtree Road (1.5 miles from our new Plaza Towers location). We interviewed with four major Atlanta brokerages and determined that Engel and Volkers, with their vast array of marketing services was the best going forward option for the both of us. We exited Atlanta Intown where I have many, many friends on the best of terms and wish them well going forward. Change is hard, but the dynamics of this Real Estate market are rapidly changing, especially from a web and social media perspective. With an array of international partners and multiple business platforms, Engle and Volkers is a rapidly growing Real Estate company and both Jeremy and I are excited to be a part of it. We will have the resources of a marketing team, full time graphic design staff and social media specialists.

We are both looking forward to our integration into brand new office space and a dynamic growing Real Estate brokerage. We are certain that with these changes, we will be in a great place to best serve the interests of our valued client base going forward.
